Residential Christmas Light Installation in Hickory, NC

Your home professionally lit, without the ladder. We design it, install it, keep it lit all season, take it down in January, and store it until next year.

Nobody Actually Enjoys the Ladder Part

Most people do not stop hanging their own Christmas lights because the lights are hard. They stop because of the November Saturday spent on a ladder in the cold, the tangled bin from last year, the one strand that fails in the middle of the run, and the January morning when it all has to come down again.

We take that whole cycle. A free in-person design consultation first, so you see the plan and the price before anything happens. Commercial-grade LED product cut to fit your roofline instead of stock lengths stretched to reach. Install through October and November. Mid-season service if anything goes dark. Takedown in January, and storage until next year so nothing lives in your attic.

You get the house you wanted to have, and none of the weekend it usually costs.

Residential Christmas light installation on a Hickory, NC home roofline

What We Install on Homes

Roofline & Gables

C9 or mini-light runs along eaves, gable peaks, and ridge lines, cut to your exact roofline so the run ends where the roof does.

Trees & Shrubs

Warm white or multi-color wraps on trunks, canopies, and foundation plantings. A single well-wrapped tree often does more for a yard than another run of roofline.

Columns & Walkways

Lighted garland on columns and railings, framed entryways, and lit paths from the drive to the door.

Doors & Windows

Outlined windows, wreaths, and door frames sized to the architecture rather than to whatever length came in the box.

What It Costs, Honestly

Most homes in Hickory and Catawba County land between $750 and $2,500. The range is wide because holiday lighting is not priced on square footage the way most home services are. Four things move the number more than anything else: how much of the roofline and property you want lit, the height and pitch of the roof, how many separate coverage areas you add such as trees, columns and walkways, and whether it is a first install or a repeat season.

A single-story ranch with a simple roofline can sit at the low end even at a decent size. A two-story home with dormers, several roof planes and a steep pitch pushes higher even on a similar footprint, because steep and tall takes longer to rig safely and needs more ladder repositioning. That is labor time, not more product.

We do not publish one flat rate, because we would be guessing at your house. We walk the property, measure it, and hand you a firm written number before any work starts. The full breakdown is in our Christmas light installation cost guide.

There is no prepay. New customers pay a 50 percent deposit at booking and the balance at the job, and repeat customers pay at the job.

Book in September and Pay the Least

The earlier you book, the less the same display costs, because early booking is what lets us schedule crews properly across the season:

  • September booking: 35 percent off, the best price of the year
  • October booking: 20 percent off, with installs already underway
  • November booking: 10 percent off, subject to remaining slots

Installs run October through November so your home is lit for the Thanksgiving weekend through New Year. Takedown happens in January and storage is included, which means next season starts with a phone call instead of a search for the bin.

Residential Installation FAQ

How much does residential Christmas light installation cost in Hickory, NC?
Most homes run $750 to $2,500. A small home with roofline only lands around $750 to $900, an average home with roofline plus a tree or columns around $900 to $1,200, a larger home with several coverage areas around $1,200 to $1,500, and a large or multi-story home with a full display above that. Our cost guide breaks down exactly what moves the number.
Do you take the lights down after Christmas?
Yes. Takedown in January is included in every installation, and so is storage until the following season. You never touch a ladder and you never give up closet or attic space to a bin of lights.
Do I need to buy my own lights?
No. We run a lease program. Commercial-grade LED product is provided as part of the installation, cut to fit your roofline rather than run in stock lengths, and we replace anything that fails during the season.
When should I book to be lit for the season?
September if you can. Booking in September earns 35 percent off, October earns 20 percent, and November earns 10 percent. Installs run October through November. The discount ladder exists to spread the schedule out, so booking early genuinely costs you less.
What if a strand goes out in the middle of December?
Call us and we come fix it. Mid-season maintenance is included for the whole season, so a dark section is a service call rather than something you climb up to sort out yourself in the cold.
Can you light trees and walkways, or only the roofline?
Both. Roofline and gables are the most common request, but we also wrap trees and shrubs, run lighted garland on columns and railings, frame doors and windows, and light walkways and landscaping. Most displays combine two or three of those.
How does payment work?
There is no prepay. New customers pay a 50 percent deposit at booking and the balance at the job. Repeat customers simply pay at the job.

Where We Install

We light homes across Hickory, Newton, Conover, Claremont, Maiden, Granite Falls, Statesville, Morganton, and Lenoir, and we are based on the north shore of Lake Hickory. Christmas Lights Hickory is part of the HydroClean family of service companies working in this area since 2010. Doing commercial holiday lighting as well is why we own lifts and carry the insurance to use them, which is what makes a tall or steep residential roofline a normal job rather than an exception.
